Four new acts confirmed for Way Out West!

We’re back at it! Today, four new acts that will join us in Slottsskogen are being announced. Please welcome Wilco [US], Jalen Ngonda [US], Current Joys [US] and Lambrini Girls [UK]!

Three decades into their career, Wilco are still anything but a nostalgia act, and this summer one of alternative rock and americana’s most influential and uncompromising bands comes to Way Out West.

In recent years, Current Joys have reached a new audience through social media, where the song “Kids” in particular has been given a new life. It’s a reminder that deeply personal songs — old or new — can still spark huge engagement among younger listeners.

If Jalen Ngonda had broken through in the early 1970s, his name would very likely have been mentioned in the same breath as the most defining voices in soul music. The only difference is that he’s making this music now — and because of that, the present is richer.

Some bands knock on the door before stepping inside. Lambrini Girls don’t work like that. They kick the door in, shout something inappropriate, and then describe themselves better than any critic ever could: “The best band in the world. Imagine your nan is in the boot of your car with a croissant in her mouth and hears Bikini Kill for the first time.” And for once, a band’s own biography isn’t just spot-on — it’s almost an understatement.
