Eat the future
How does the future taste? And which choices decide what ends up on our plates? Food is about pleasure, community and culture, but also about climate, biodiversity and how we use the planet’s resources. At the same time, new ideas are emerging –from circular food systems and ocean farming to locally produced food and smarter ways of using what’s already been produced.
What will the food of the future look like? Do sustainable choices have to mean sacrifice, or can they instead make food tastier, more fun and more creative? And what role do we play when we shop, cook or choose where to eat?
In Eat the Future, chefs, researchers, entrepreneurs and food personalities come together for a conversation about the food systems of tomorrow. Through real-world examples and new perspectives, we explore how less food waste, locally produced food and circular solutions can make a difference – and how small everyday choices can contribute to a more sustainable future.Because the future of food is about more than what we eat – it’s about how we eat, produce, and think about food.
Participants in the Eat the Future panel are chef Sofia B Olsson, marine biologist Maria Bodin, Kenneth Gustavsson – founder of Wine Mechanics and moderator Kalle Wannerskog, food editor at Göteborgs-Posten.
As a collaboration with Greentopia, this talk is part of the UN Sustainable Lifestyle Hub in Gothenburg, highlighting local solutions to global challenges.
WOW Talks is presented by Storytel and the talks will also be available afterwards in the Storytel app.
