With three albums released in less than two years, Stockholm-based band Agitator have been just as relentless in the studio as they are on stage. Their third album, “Året av sex” is their darkest work to date and also one of their slowest, drawing inspiration from everything from chanting witch doctors to avant-garde electronic music. The lyrics on “Året av sex” are darker, more dangerous, and more precise than ever before. They rush forward in a stream of furious associations, reminiscent of Beat poetry, simmering with a Freudian darkness. One moment you’re pressing your lips through the fence of a dog park, letting strange dogs come over to lick them in the absence of any other intimacy. Widely known as one of Sweden’s most exciting new live acts, Agitators show at Stay Out West will most definitley be a packed one.
