A Good Year
Stay Out West Saturday August 15th
What exactly is happening in Copenhagen right now? Few cities seem to produce as much adventurous music as the Danish capital, and A Good Year are among the clearest signs of a scene in remarkable creative health. Formed by filmmaker Albert R. Hildebrand and producer Tobias Laust Hansen, the duo set out to erase the boundary between moving images and music, creating a project where neither medium exists in service of the other. That vision first materialized in “Sofina” – an audiovisual work that existed simultaneously as a film and an album, born from a shared experience of grief and ultimately shaped into something quietly hopeful. Earlier this year, A Good Year took another step forward with “Play”, a record that expands their cinematic universe into something warmer, more immediate and more song-driven without sacrificing any of its atmospheric depth. Acoustic instruments, synthetic textures and field recordings come together in a sound that feels warmer, more immediate and unmistakably their own. This summer, they bring that immersive world to Stay Out West.
