Esther
Stay Out West Friday August 14th
Esther is the acclaimed talent and virtuoso musician who has performed with everyone from Lykke Li, Kite, and Amason to bob hund, Deportees, and Miike Snow. In 2019, she broke through as a solo artist with the hit “Follow Me Home,” while also gaining wider recognition as a touring and studio musician. Seven years into her career, the time has finally come for the release of her debut album – Fragmentality. The album is defined by charming, intricate, playful, deeply personal, and delicately sung pop music that could not possibly come from anyone but Esther.
On Fragmentality, Esther takes on the roles of songwriter, musician, and producer, while also inviting collaborators and friends such as Pontus Winnberg, Salem Al Fakir, Amanda Börjeson, Vincent Pontare, Marcus White, Tove Burman, Zacharias Zachrisson, Wilma Wall, and Joel Henrysson to contribute to the project. The end result is a distinctive and intelligent brand of pop that, to some extent, recalls her earlier releases but is refined and elevated here. By piecing together fragments of surreal dreams, ambiguity, and different facets of her own personality, Esther has created a sound that is entirely and unmistakably her own. Don’t miss her at this year’s Stay Out West!
