There has always been a certain kind of band that inspires near-religious loyalty. Acts that listeners build their identities around. Nektar is exactly that kind of band. Remarkably, it has only been two years since the Gothenburg group released their debut single, yet they have already established themselves as one of the most vital and beloved young bands in Swedish indie rock. Their music feels like something that could only emerge from endless sessions in rehearsal spaces and teenage obsession: distorted guitars, longing melodies, emotional overexposure and the kind of restless sincerity that turns ordinary songs into lifelines. The band has already released two albums, including the universally acclaimed and triple-Grammy nominated “Om du behöver mig” from 2025, which was followed by a sold-out tour across Sweden. A tour that confirmed why Nektar are increasingly spoken about as one of the most overwhelming live experiences right now — volatile, emotional and charged with the feeling that absolutely anything could happen at any moment. This summer, Way Out West gets to witness exactly that when Nektar arrive in Gothenburg.

Nektar will perform in Slottsskogen on Friday August 14th
