Few artists feel as precisely attuned to the present moment as DJ Gigola. Even her name carries a kind of built-in duality. “Gigolo” as both playboy and, in its older French root, something closer to a dancing woman — a contrast that mirrors the fluidity of identity and expression that defines her work. That instinct runs through her music, where boundaries between genres are not so much crossed as dissolved, and where pop and club music coexist in a constantly shifting dialogue. There is, however, a clear throughline beneath that restless movement. For DJ Gigola, it is rhythm, not harmony, that holds everything together.
