Few acts feel as completely of the moment as Fcukers. This is New York distillated: cool, slightly aloof, a little bit indie sleaze, a little bit Y2K after-hours glow, all rooted in the edgy pulse of alt-dance. Their music feels like a party you’ve heard about all week but can’t quite find — a room humming somewhere downtown, a guest list at the door, the sense that something is already happening inside. Emerging from New York’s fertile underground, Fcukers have built their reputation through word of mouth and tightly wound live sets that blur the line between gig and late-night function. Remarkably, they’ve become one of the most talked-about new names in electronic music without yet releasing a full-length album, a testament to the clarity of their aesthetic and the feeling that they’re capturing something fleeting in real time. That long-awaited debut, “Ö”, produced by Kenneth Blume (FKA Kenny Beats), arrives on March 27, finally opening the doors to the world they’ve been hinting at. This summer, the invitation extends to Way Out West, where Fcuckers bring the party and, for once, we’re all on the list.
Fcukers will perform in Slottsskogen on Friday August 14th
