Anna von Hausswolff
In Anna von Hausswolff’s artistic practice lies a creativity that is both unpredictable and boundless. With the pipe organ as her natural instrument of choice, she has long explored the ethereal qualities of breath in her sound: inhaling, holding, and letting go. Sometimes this takes the form of apocalyptic, heavy rock songs; other times, more intimate organ pieces.
On her new album ICONOCLASTS, she has once again evolved her sound, where darkness, weight, primal force, and experimentation remain recognizable but are blended with new, brighter, and more unexpected dimensions. The album, which features guests such as Iggy Pop and Ethel Cain, has received stunning reviews all over (including a 5/5 in The Guardian!), truly cementing Anna von Hausswolff’s role on the international scene. She’s already sold out most of the stops on her European tour this autumn, and next summer she’ll perform a long-awaited homecoming show in Slottsskogen during Way Out West!
