Way Out West will no longer be taking place this year. Taking current factors of this unprecedented situation into account, cancelling was an unavoidable.
Every summer since 2007, Slottsskogen and Gothenburg has been transformed into an arena with unforgettable concerts, food, talks, panels and people. Sadly, this won’t be the case this year. What 2020’s edition would have been like is only something we can fantasize about, but one thing is for certain: it would have been wonderful. We’re now bringing that feeling with us planning the best Way Out West ever – one that will have memories from two festivals in one.
Way Out West will be back August 12–14 2021. We are already working on the program for next year, which will consist of a number of previously confirmed acts for 2020 as well as many new acts – both big and small. The first acts for 2021 will be announced shortly.
Your ticket for 2020 will be valid for 2021 and we hope that you will hold on to it and join us next year instead. Holding on to your ticket, if you have the possibility, is a great way of supporting the continuation of Way Out West. The same goes for tickets to other postponed events. Having rich and diverse cultural offerings in our community will be incredibly important when we have seen these extraordinary times through, and we encourage everyone to support their local institutions.
As a thank-you, we will upgrade everyone who holds on to their tickets to Premium (2495 SEK). Rest assured, you will of course also have the option to receive a refund.

For now, we choose to focus on the brighter days ahead. The moment before your favorite artist steps out on Stage Flamingo, the vibrant dance floor surrounding Stage Dungen. Evenings turning into nights at Bananpiren. That show at Pustervik that you stumble upon not knowing what to expect, leaving you with a new favourite band. The best Way Out West ever.
