Jenny Hval and her dreamlike, experimental music is well-known these days. Not as many are familiar with Lost Girls, the Norwegian duo that Hval runs with long-time collaborator and multi-instrumentalist Håvard Volden. Which is a bit unfortunate, because Lost Girls is a truly excellent project. By combining droning guitars and electronics with Hvals piercingly precise voice and stream-of-consciousness lyrics they create a world that is as unpredictable as it is compelling. Their latest album, the critically acclaimed ‘Selvutsletter’ (self-effacing), was released in 2023 and this summer Lost Girls are taking their singular universe to Stay Out West!
