DJ Koze
Slottsskogen Thursday August 13th
Few figures in contemporary electronic music radiate the same warmth, curiosity and psychedelic sense of possibility as DJ Koze. Across decades of releases and reinventions, the Hamburg-based producer has cultivated a language that feels both deeply personal and porous: house, techno, pop, hip-hop and leftfield electronics passing through a sensibility attuned as much to transcendence as to the dancefloor. It’s perhaps this openness — to genre, to collaboration, to the idea of music as something alive — that has secured him an almost unrivalled position as one of electronic music’s most consistently acclaimed and beloved artists. That rich universe expanded further on the widely praised album “Music Can Hear Us” (2025), a record that moves less like a collection of tracks than a drifting, softly glowing journey. Picking up in the wake of the modern classic “Knock Knock” (2018), it balances hazy electropop with gently thumping house and techno, weaving in global club textures and unexpected detours along the way. Rougher around the edges yet rich in atmosphere, “Music Can Hear Us” reinforces the sense that Koze’s music behaves like a living organism — absorbing, mutating and responding to the world around it. This summer, this gently pulsing vision touches down at Way Out West.
DJ Koze will perform in Slottsskogen on Thursday August 13th
