Queens of the Stone Age: Alive in the Catacombs
Documentary / USA / 28 min / 2025 / Swedish premiere
+ introduction by the band!
A haunting and intimate concert film recorded in the legendary Paris Catacombs — the first-ever performance allowed in this sacred space. Stripped-down arrangements, eerie acoustics, and unconventional percussion (chains, chopsticks, sandpaper) give the set a raw, ritualistic feel.
Directed by Thomas Rames and produced by La Blogothèque, the film features Josh Homme and the band alongside a live string trio. Shot in July 2024, just days after the band canceled their tour due to Homme’s health issues, Alive in the Catacombs stands as a powerful and atmospheric document — part séance, part swan song.
Featuring:
Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita, Jon Theodore
With Christelle Lassort, Bella June Bozic, and Cécile Lacharme on strings
Sound by Mark Rankin and Gavin Lurssen
