When asked about her age, John Glacier cryptically replied, “20,000 years.” The thoughtful and enigmatic artist from London rarely shares details about her private life, but her music reveals much more. Over fractured lo-fi beats, melancholic atmospheres, and contemporary post-punk, Glacier raps or speaks in a style best described as stream-of-consciousness — and the result is striking.
With ten full-length albums, a compilation record, a podcast series, and a book that immortalizes the band’s unique bond with its devoted fans, Avantgardet has become just as natural a fit on major festival stages as in sweaty, cramped basement venues. Expect pure ecstasy when Rasmus Arvidsson and the band take the stage in Slottsskogen.
Many artists try to capture teenage melancholy, but few succeed. The 22-year-old EKKSTACY is among the chosen few. In 2021, the Canadian singer-songwriter caught an entire generation’s attention with the haunting “i walk the earth all by myself”, and he hasn’t lost it since.
In addition, we bring you solo-debuting Adam Olenius, indie rockers Girl Scout, Peter Bjorn and John’s Björn with his jazz project Yttling Jazz, the sizzling newcomers Nektar, dance duo Real Lies, trombone ace Ebba Åsman, the playful collective NOFUN!, and BIJI – currently making waves with a remix of a Håkan Hellström track.
