With less than two weeks to go until Way Out West and the full musical lineup announced, it’s time to unveil this year’s food program. Food and beverages are a big part of Way Out West’s DNA, and we’re incredibly proud to once again present an oasis of vegetarian flavor experiences and a wide range of drinks to match.
One of this year’s most exciting collaborations is with none other than Broth Boy – Gothenburg’s very own ramen king. The hundreds of meters-long queues at every one of his pop-ups speak for themselves. During Way Out West, Broth Boy will be setting up a limited-seat popup restaurant featuring a signature Browned Butter Spicy Miso ramen. Spots are limited – first come, first served!
In the same local spirit, we’re also bringing back our beloved Local Chefs Corner, where some of the city’s favorite culinary spots serve up their most iconic dishes. This year, look out for Hermanos TacoKiosk, Basso, FOMO, Gaffelkonst, Gujju, and Mackbaren.
On top of that, we’re once again welcoming some of Sweden’s top food trucks to Slottsskogen. Whether you’re into various types of burgers, pizza made from leftovers from the Norrlands Ljus production, bao buns, smålandsrullar, grilled sandwiches or fresh salads – there’s something here for everyone.
As always, the festival will feature a wide selection of drinks. Norrlands Ljus is setting up two dedicated hangout spots – Ljusbaren and Ljusstranden – ideal for relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere.
In addition to the main bars, our beloved craft beer bar Puben is expanding and will now offer three separate areas across the festival grounds, each serving a diverse range of brews. A central wine bar will also be available, offering a curated selection of wines. For those looking for alcohol-free options, Oatly is opening an alcohol-free focused bar between the main stages.
As previously announced, we’re also introducing the Swedish Startup Kitchen at this year’s festival – a brand-new food area where the plant-based flavors of the future take center stage. In collaboration with some of Sweden’s most forward-thinking food entrepreneurs, this will be a unique chance to experience bold, sustainable, and planet-friendly innovations.
