The journey from a few first chords to a cheering crowd is a long one. Bands need time to rehearse, but they also need opportunities to practice performing on stage. The study associations’ cultural programs are often where artists get their first chance to find out whether their voice carries in front of an audience. That is why they organize thousands of live performances across the country every year. These cultural programs have declined sharply as a result of cuts to government funding. Nearly one in three cultural programs held in 2023 had disappeared by 2025 – a decline of 29 percent.
To highlight this and celebrate the music that has emerged from accessible rehearsal rooms and early live performances, Way Out West together with ABF, Medborgarskolan and Pustervik, invite you to a Pre-Party at Pustervik on Wednesday August 12.
Taking the stage are six bands from the Swedish indie scene:
Hollow Ship
Mud Grief
Dolce
Givana
Michaela Åberg
Hand Audiovisual
Stor Som Lola
This Pre-party will have free entrance and for everyone, with or without ticket to Way Out West. Age limit 18+, doors open at 19.00 (open until late).
