Kornél Kovács certainly started young: at age 14 he was the youngest jungle DJ in Stockholm, later on gaining resident gigs at the city’s house clubs and hosting dance music shows on Swedish national radio before graduating through Red Bull Music Academy. Together with fellow alumni Axel Boman and Petter Nordkvist he started the house label Studio Barnhus which has been a driving force for all things house for the past decade. Since then his skills behind the decks have taken him to all corners of the world – just like the samples he digs up for his own tracks.
In 2017 Mixmag named him as one of the 20 best DJs in the world and it’s easy to see why: he blends deep, acid and tech like nobody’s business. Also an acclaimed producer, earning a Swedish Grammy award for his debut album in 2016. His own take on house is always playful, regardless if it’s straight four-to-the-floor or coming from the leftfield. Currently riding the waves caused by his freshly released sophomore album Stockholm Marathon – his club gig at Stay Out West is sure to generate more steps than any long-distance race out there.
