Beverly Kills has established themselves as one of the most exciting acts in Sweden’s alternative music scene. With their debut album Kaleido from 2022, the band not only introduced a whole new take on Gothenburg indie but also dove even deeper into their dreamscape of melodic post-punk. With atmospheric synth lines, explosive bursts of emotion, and observations of everyday life that are as cynical as they are romanticized, they’ve somehow managed to combine comforting melancholy with pure, unfiltered euphoria. Since then, they’ve taken their music to entirely new places—both sonically and literally. Their second album Wishing Well was released this spring and is a clear manifesto of the tightrope walk between anxiety and ecstasy that the band has become known for.
