The tragic passing of Mimi Parker in 2022, with whom Alan Sparhawk co-founded the deeply influential band Low, left Sparhawk alone after 30 years of music making. Since then, Alan Sparhawk has been forced to enter unknown territory. In 2024 he released his first solo album ‘White Roses, My God’ where he wrestles with the unnamable grief that followed the loss of his wife and creative partner. The music is processed, primal, mostly electronic and captures a sorrow as wild as the ocean. On the 30th of May 2025, Alan Sparhawk will be returning with his sophomore effort ‘With Trampled Turtles’ from which he has already shared the two amazing tracks ‘Stranger’ and ‘Not Broken’. We are proud to welcome Alan Sparhawk to Stay Out West.
