Boom bap is back and it’s much thanks to the Buffalo rapper Westside Gunn and his influential label and collective Griselda Records. For more than two decades they have been reimagining the grimy yet soulful productions that were popularized by producers like RZA and DJ Premier during the 90s and bringing them straight into the 21^st century. The productivity of Westside Gunn is truly something else. For the last 20 years he has released five EPs, six studio albums and sixteen (!) mixtapes, the latest one simply called ‘12’ where Westside Gunn once again showcases his talent for combining art and fashion with tales from the street. In august the raw hardcore rap ambassador Westside Gunn will be playing at Way Out West together with his partner in crime Smoke DZA!
