Queens of the Stone Age has been forced to cancel further of their tour dates, including their scheduled performance at Way Out West 2024. See a statement from the band here. We are sending Josh our best wishes for a quick recovery.
Please welcome the volatile legend Jack White to Way Out West, who will replace the band and close the Flamingo Stage on Thursday August 8th.
Both a traditionalist and an avant-gardist, the elusive genius Jack White has managed to combine an all-encompassing mastery of classic blues and rock’n’roll with the genuinely bizarre and unexpected. And perhaps it’s this rare combination of being an acutely sincere interpreter of roots music while at the same time fearlessly exploring the weird, the silly and the strange that has made White one of the most essential and influential rock conceptualists of our time. First as one half of the iconically color-coded duo The White Stripes, who just happened to become one of the largest rock groups of the 2000’s, and later as a celebrated solo artist, Jack White has continued to reimagine and reinvigorate rock’n’roll. On his newly released sixth solo album, which has no title or track list but has been referred to as ‘No Name’ on the internet, Jack White has made a fierce and magnificent return to the fundaments of rock’n’roll, making fans go crazy in the search of bootleg streams, extremely rare vinyl or MP3’s. The stealth-released album has also received wide celebration from prestigious critics such as The Guardian and Rolling Stone. The former describes it as “dark, heavy, thrilling, beautiful” and both agree that that ‘No Name’ is a triumphant return to form and indisputably belongs up there with his best work. We are excited to welcome Jack White to Way Out West!
