Unfortunately, Amaraae and A36 both need to cancel their performances at this year’s festival.
Here is a statement from Amaarae: Sadly I am not able to perform at Way Out West Festival as scheduled. This is due to unforeseen personal circumstances which I need to deal with this month. I’m heartbroken that I cannot perform for the fans who were excited to see the show. I hope to see you all again soon and I promise to make it up to y’all next time we’re together ❤️
As replacements, Darkoo [NG], 1.Cuz and Shiro joins the line-up! The act playing on the vacant slot at Linné on Saturday will be announced shortly
Darkoo is the genre-blurring London-raised Nigeria born artist who has successfully created a sound that is distinctly her own, blending her international influences to create her own style of Afroswing, highlighting her vibrant and androgynous vocals perfectly.
Rapper 1.Cuz is from the suburb of Hässelby in Sweden and his most distinct attribute is the balaclava mask – a trademark he started wearing in the beginning of his career to distinguish between his personal and public life. The 24 year old got his big break in 2018 with his debut single “Akta mannen”, followed by a debut album which charted #1 on the official Swedish album charts.
Shiro, an artist from Gothenburg, debuted in 2020 with the song “Fångar,” which reached gold status with over 5 million views. Since then, he has released several singles such as “High Rollers,” “Blind,” “Mandana,” “Mellan Man,” and “5.2 mm.” The song “Blind” became his first Top 50 hit thanks to TikTok, while his highest ranking, fifth place, came with the song “Konstnärer” on Asme’s album “Spår av Blod.”
