With a sound as hypnotically intimate as expansive, The Japanese House creates lush synth pop that can break and mend you heart at the same time. It’s nostalgia, lonely nights, Imogen Heap inspired vocals and a shoulder of relief in times of need. The debut EP Pools to Bathe In crushed us, the follow-ups Clean and Swim Against the Tide had us swimming in a sea of memories and sorrow and 2017’s Saw you In A Dream showed us the hope behind it all. Last year Amber Bain, the creative mind behind the project, released her debut album as The Japanese House, Good At Falling. The album was met with widespread critical acclaim and further cemented Bain’s role as one of the greatest songwriters of our generation. With an exceptional performance at Nalen Klubb in Stockholm earlier this year, The Japanese House are set to perform at Way Out West.
