Neneh Cherry has been an icon since the late 80’s. Her debut album Raw Like Sushi is one of the finest of the decade, but her career has never followed the typical path. Through the decades, Neneh has shown a rare artistic integrity and always treated her music as art rather than a commodity. Last year, Neneh returned with the new critically acclaimed Four Tet-produced album Broken Politics. The album is another creative meld of avant-pop that could only be Neneh; the daughter of jazz great Don Cherry who grew up in rural Sweden, early 80s Alphabet City, NYC and post-punk era Bristol and London.
