Creating something that sounds truly timeless is not an easy task but if someone was going to do it, it was astral folk supergroup Bonny Light Horseman. What started as a side-project to revisit ancient folk songs for Fruits Bats leader Eric Johnson, singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and producer/multi-instrumentalist Josh Kaufman ended up as celebrated album. On their self-titled debut, the trio takes traditional folk songs and gives them a contemporary twist without losing sight of what made these songs survive through generations in the first place. This summer Bonny Light Horseman are coming to Way Out West. (Don’t miss Anaïs Mitchell solo performance either).
Bonny Light Horseman will be playing on Thursday August 11th.
