Breakout star Arlo Parks has had a turbulent couple of years. Not only did the singer and poet from London win the prestigious Mercury prize for her widely acclaimed debut album ‘Collapsed in Sunbeams’ but her subversive yet sweet indie also won the approval of nearly every other tastemaker around: NME, The Guardian, Michelle Obama, Rolling Stone, and Phoebe Bridgers – just to name a few. And it’s not hard to understand why. Her spellbinding music draws from the darkest of places but somehow manages to keep a light shining at the end of the tunnel. Over groovy 90’s inspired productions, Parks gently tells her compassionate tales of depression, kindness, sexuality, and heartbreak with truly masterful lyrical precision and the result is enthralling. Despite intensive touring and opening for names such as Billie Eilish and Harry Styles, the 22-year-old recently released the two singles ‘Weightless’ and ‘Impurities’, both taken from her coming sophomore ‘My Soft Machine’ due out May 26th. The multifaceted Arlo Parks will be playing Way Out West this summer!
