She’s been called one of the greatest songwriters of her generation and a national treasure. She’s headlined shows worldwide and had her music has been featured in loads of year-end best lists. She’s one third of folk supergroup Bonny Light Horseman, and in 2020, she was named to TIME’s prestigious TIME 100 list. Anaïs Mitchell is the Vermont-based singer-songwriter that has done it all, and still isn’t done yet.
Mitchell’s new self-titled album will be released early 2022 and was made in close collaboration with friends from Bon Iver, The National and her own Bonny Light Horseman. The album will be her first all-new material under her own name since 2012, and is expected to be her finest, most personal work yet. This spring, she’ll hit the road with those new tracks and come august, she’ll visit Way Out West for a must-see performance. Not convinced? Just listen to the three tracks she lended her voice to on Big Red Machine’s – another indie supergroup – latest album.
