From the very start of her career, PJ Harvey has commanded attention. Sometimes loud, sometimes whispering – sometimes aiming for the gut, sometimes aiming for the mind. But no matter the approach the constant, except for her unwillingness to repeat herself, remains this feeling of an almost absolute significance and an immediate presence. Polly Jean Harvey from the little town of Dorset has managed what very few of her colleagues has achieved, namely staying relevant for more than 30 years and counting.

After releasing two highly political albums – The Mercury Music Prize winning ‘Let England Shake’ from 2011 and the equally celebrated ‘The Hope Six Demolition Project’ from 2016 – PJ Harvey found herself disconnected from her music. A few years of composing mostly movie scores followed, but in the end, it was poetry, more specifically her own book ‘Orlam’ that inspired her to make music under her own flag again. On her new hallucinatory, dreamy album ‘I Inside the Old Year Dying’ (2023) we are once again presented with a PJ Harvey we never encountered before and once again the result is nothing but thrilling. We are excited to welcome the iconic PJ Harvey to Way Out West!
