At the end of Linnégatan, next to Linnéplatsen and near to the Majorna district, lies the green oasis called Slottsskogen (literal meaning the Castle’s Forest). Located in the middle of Gothenburg, the park acts as the lungs of the city and is therefore very close to our hearts. In the summer months the park transforms into a meeting place for the city’s inhabitants to stroll, picnic, and play Frisbee. The contrast between nature and the surrounding urban environment makes it an unbeatable setting for a world-class music festival that collects some of today’s most interesting bands and artists. Way Out West and Slottsskogen are truly a perfect match.
From Gothenburg Central Station you can reach the park by foot in about 30 minutes, or ten minutes with one of Gothenburg’s famous trams (hop off at Linnéplatsen or Botaniska Trädgården). For more information on getting there by public transportation click here or check out www.vasttrafik.se/en/
