George Ezra sings with a soulful, wizened tone that seems like it´s coming from a different time, perhaps even another man? Music blog When the Gramophone Rings described it aptly as “something that should come from a captain of a shrimp trawler in Alabama rather than a 21 year old from Bristol.” And he sure knocked a lot of people out when his single “Budapest” ran like a lawnmower over the charts of the world in late 2013. The subsequent album, “Wanted on Voyage” topped the album charts in the UK and was nominated for four Brit Awards. Since then, he has toured with Sam Smith, Tom Odell and Robert Plant. All the while working on a sequel, surely filled with the same charming mix of indie rock, roots music and blue-eyed soul.

After several years with Bright Eyes, Conor Oberst now travels alone. With a guitar, a notebook and his mere voice he’s changed lives for the past 20 years. The Music of Conor Oberst has that share of magic that is needed to inspire, make people come together and make change. This is done by pure storytelling: about big things, small things, important things and unimportant things – always with a rare precision. If Conor Obersts songs have moved you, you never forget – that’s almost scientifically proved. The past year’s Oberst have recorded music and performed it on tour. Last year he put out the album ”Ruminations” which featured personal sketches of songs. This year, he completed the album by recording the same songs with a full ensemble in a studio and naming it ”Salutations”. Also adding a couple of tunes, Oberst might have put out one of this year’s most comprehensive singer/songwriter albums.
