DANNY BROWN

Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Danny Brown began his musical career in the group Reser’vor Dogs. With a DJ father he was introduced to club music and hip hop at an early age. Known for his love of skinny jeans and non-conventional rap attire (that supposedly cost him a record deal with the label G-Unit) it’s hardly surprising that Brown has been flagged as innovative with his evolutionary rap style.

His debut album The Hybrid boasted lines of urban influenced rhymes. His sound continually developed and became more experimental with clear influences of UK grime and prog rock. In summer 2011 Brown, together with his label Fool’s Gold Records, released the album XXX on free download to favourable reviews and great acclaim in the music world.

His newly awaited album Old has contributions from the likes of A$AP Rocky and Purity Ring. Melding bravado with tainted streets he uses modern day social references with humour that makes the images captured in his lyrics all the more real.
